Kanmon Contract Empty
PostSubject: Kanmon Contract   Kanmon Contract EmptyTue Aug 18, 2009 10:56 am

Alright; several of these are pretty unusual. I've tried to be as clear as I can, but if anything is incomprehensible, please ask!

Summon

Name: Koutai
Age: A Lesser Koutai exists for perhaps 300 seconds after being summoned.
Gender: When you tell me the gender of that shirt you’re wearing, I’ll tell you the gender of a Koutai.
Height: 0 miles
Weight: 0 kilograms

Appearance:
Spoiler:
A simple black disk, about 1.5 times the size of the palm that opens it. It appears to be flush with the surface it rests on; if the surface was textured it is on the same plane as the lowest point, creating a depression.

Personality: Koutai are only marginally sentient. They instinctively reject anything that's too large, but that's about it. Living creatures they corrupt tend to be extremely aggressive (for their species).

Background: A Koutai was, oddly enough, the first Kanmon that Akihiko encountered. For reasons unknown, the wasp it corrupted attached him to the Kanmon contract, leading to quite a surprise when he first performed Kuchiyose no Jutsu.
The first time Akihiko called a Koutai, he thought it was a small flame burning on the ground. He filed it away in the back of his head as something that he might stick on the end of a pole or something and moved on. It was not until he was instructed more thoroughly in the theory behind Kanmon that he realized what was really happening. His estimate of the Raifusaikuruenerugi went up, but the name Flare stayed. Can you imagine yelling "Raifusaikuruenerugi" in a battle?

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: D-Rank

Jutsus:
Name: Shaba – World of Corruption
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Matter
Description: Koutai are the concentrated essence of a desire for battle. They hold the power to “corrupt” objects, redefining them according to the Koutai’s nature. The object in question must be able to fit through the Koutai entirely (so kunai work but kusarigamas don't). Inanimate objects are replaced with their inanimate counterpart; living objects are replaced with their (generally) much more intelligent living counterpart. The corrupted object crumbles at dawn or sunset (whichever comes first), leaving the original in its place as the malevolence of the Koutai disperses.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Senka no Kaze - War's Winds
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: A lightweight gas, such as nitrogen
Description: This is technically just Shaba applied to the fluid (usually air) surrounding the Koutai. The result is a steady flow of identical fluid at a slightly higher temperature and significantly greater velocity.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Raifusaikuruenerugi - Cycle
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: "Fire"
Requirements: Energy, in any form
Description: Raifusaikuruenerugi corrupts a much more fundamental commodity than most applications of Shaba: energy. The very basis of this world is to be remade into the perfect image of Ikusa Mari. The ‘perfected’ energy is much more violent, and significantly greater in quantity. In form it closely resembles fire, a clinging fire that spreads over surfaces it comes in contact with, setting them ablaze if such is possible. Since lesser Raifusaikuruenerugi are so small, their work only captures ambient energy. It's rumored that Greater Raifusaikuruenerugi can break down and corrupt matter from this world along with energy, producing flames of E=mc^3 proportions.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Yowamaru - Weaken
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Energy, in any form
Description: Technically an extension of Junkan, Yowamaru is the feeling of weakness (or increased exertion) that comes over shinobi in the vicinity of a Raifusaikuruenerugi. This is their personal corruption; the effect is greater the closer they are to the “flare” itself.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Saidai no Junkan - Maximum Cycle
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: "Fire"
Requirements: Energy, in any form
Description: Under normal circumstances, the summoning shinobi's link to the Contract provides a measure of influence over the Koutai, even when it’s performing Raifusaikuruenerugi-- their energy is less likely to be corrupted, they can influence the position it takes and the direction it releases its energy, etc. However, there is always the option to initiate Saidai no Junkan, which fixes the Flare in one location and maximizes its input/output. Koutai performing Saidai no Junkan have the shortest existences of all, but while they exist the word "flare" is a tremendous insult to the fires they release.
Chakra Cost:

Summon

Name: Hiru
Age: Lesser Hiru live for perhaps four months. Each can exist outside Mari’s direct influence for a total of eight hours per summoning—their duration is halved each time they replicate.
Gender: Mixed
Height: They’re about an inch and a half long
Weight: Less than an ounce while starving

Appearance:
Spoiler:
A simple group of small black creatures, most no longer than a finger. Their bodies appear to be slightly ridged when they move.

Personality: Nasty little bloodsuckers with brains the size of mustard seeds.

Background: The Hiru are a race that are significantly lacking. They lack intelligence, they lack digestive systems, they lack pretty much everything except teeth, locomotion, and instinct. Still, they’re remarkably effective predators, in a swarm or no. Mari no doubt intended them to be scavengers, efficiently converting the dead into energy for the living, but they’ve progressed to the stage of processing the energy of the dead…prehumously.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: E

Jutsus:
Name: Suitoru - Absorb
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: “Fire”
Requirements: For the first stage, a victim. For the second, time to feed.
Description: Hiru are, at their heart, scavengers. They drink the energy of whatever they’re attached to mercilessly, be it physical or otherwise. They’re pretty efficient—two can kill an elephant if they feed to satiety.
Once bloated, they stop feeding. Then they explode, releasing Mari’s “perfected” energy and essentially using their victim’s strength as a weapon against it.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Ripurike-shon - Replication
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: “If you see one, run. If you see two, fly. If you see four, it’s already too late.”
Hiru are intended to multiply rapidly to address the constant carnage surrounding Mari’s throne. Their population doubles several times for each second they remain immobile.
Chakra cost:

Summon

Name: Lesser Kirema [Kanshisha]
Age: A Lesser Kirema lasts for perhaps four seconds. A Kanshisha that comes through one can remain in the world for quite some time
Gender: Female
Height: Six feet, four inches, if stretched
Weight: Two hundred six pounds and four ounces

Appearance: Rift-
Spoiler:
A Kirema is really just an opening into the War Demesne.
Kanshisha-
Spoiler:

Personality: Kirema are really just gateways leading to a ‘perfected region;’ they're emotionless. Kanshisha are not-- they're paranoid and aggressive. They have a good sense of self preservation, but it takes an unusual turn-- where Kanshisha are concerned, the word "preemptive" in "preemptive strike" is pretty much redundant.
Aella in particular is an interesting case. Most Kanshisha have a strong sense of clan loyalty—near the throne of Ikusa Mari, a close-knit group is essential to survival. Aella takes that one step further, accepting the idea that other creatures can be involved in the mutually supporting collection. The successes this attitude produced for her might explain why she has no problem answering Akihiko's calls. Once here, there's almost nothing that really frightens her-- compared to where she comes from, the Forest of Death is a peaceful glade.

Background: The first time Akihiko put enough power into a summoning to create a Kirema, Aella moved through it reflexively. When the Kanshisha came barreling out of thin air, Akihiko immediately used Kaze Katai no Jutsu in an effort to defend himself. To Aella's eyes, the pattern the chakra lines formed was a thing of beauty (a true novelty). It caused her to pause, to express a kind of curiosity. She was less afraid than usual as well-- the forest around Konoha is, after all, a generally pleasant, nonthreatening place, even for those accustomed to the ‘flawed’ conditions in a place like the land of fire. That's probably why Akihiko wasn't rigid with fear when she attacked. It's also almost certainly the reason that their subsequent battle felt more like a sparring match than a life-or-death struggle. Neither spoke. When the dust settled, they'd reached an agreement. Aella left, looking forward to her next visit. Akihiko went home to sleep. His claim that all of his wounds were from falling off a cliff was supported by the fractured ribs from where the Kanshisha's tail had bashed into his side.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: C

Jutsus: (for Aella)
Name: Satsubatsu - Savage
Rank: D
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: Kanshisha are warriors from a place where the air itself expresses hostile intent. Their desire to kill, their bloodlust, is a powerful mental force. While it will not incapacitate an experienced shinobi (Jounin), most people are nearly paralyzed in their first encounter with such a malevolent force. Techniques which heighten senses or 'read' opponents actually enhance the effect, since they allow the user to read the hunger for battle expressed in every line of a Kanshisha's form.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Shunshin no Jutsu - Body Flicker Technique
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: Kanshisha are incredibly fast. They have to be, to survive. Their agility is such that if a shinobi were to set off a senbon umbrella overhead, not only would they not be hit but they could cut every needle roughly in half before it reached the ground.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Chakra Etoku - Chakra Perception
Rank: C
Type: Dojutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: Like most shinobi, Aella can see chakra. The difference is that for most shinobi outside the Uchiha clan, only incredibly powerful releases of chakra are visible. Aella's eyes are substantially more effective. How much more? She said Kaze Katai no Jutsu looked beautiful.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Kamikaze - Divine Wind
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: N/A
Description: Akihiko and Aella learned from each other. One of the things Aella learned from watching Aki was how to concentrate chakra. She'd already instinctively developed a technique that releases a line of force along a shape of her body as it moves-- the point of a thrusting claw, the arc of a swinging tail... The new version of the technique is a concentrated edge-- dangerous, but precise. It can slice through an inch and a half of tempered steel without injuring the hand of the person holding it up. Yes, that was verified experimentally.

Kanmon Contract Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kanmon Contract   Kanmon Contract EmptyTue Aug 18, 2009 10:56 am

Summon

Name: Lesser Kirema [Ka]
Age: Somewhere between two and six years old.
Gender: Mixed
Height: They’re about a half-inch long.
Weight: Less than an ounce

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Smaller than a palm, these color-shifting creatures are soundless when travelling at low speed. If they’re moving at their maximum pace, they make a steady popping noise. Their bodies are covered in tiny bristles, including their wings. While they seem designed for stealth, their lower bodies can emit light in several colors.

Personality: Kirema are not sentient, just gates. The Ka that comes through this one follows specific directions from the Kanmon contract and tries to stay alive, in that order.

Background: Ikusa Mari, for all his pretensions, knows he is not some kind of omnipresent deity. He perfected a type of creature to serve as his senses across long distances and dispatched them to the borders of his territory. The small beasts proved most effective. The first time Akihiko summoned one of them, it became clear the creature could serve as his senses as well.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: E-rank

Jutsus:
Name: Sukitooru - Transparency
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: N/A
Description: This technique is a combination of precise control of a multitude of fine bristles, camouflage, incredible instincts, and a small body. This creature is small enough and fast enough to dodge large objects, and its characteristics allow it to become effectively transparent to light, sound, etc. It can even manipulate its energy(“fire” from Mari) to become invisible to techniques that perceive chakra or heat.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Chokketsu – Direct Connection
Rank: C
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Proximity to the shinobi target
Description: This is the true function of the Ka. Its summoner can synchronize with it, allowing it to function as a second set of senses—the data from the creature’s entire body is converted to provide information on sights, sounds, and scents in the general vicinity. It can also technically provide information similar to touch through the same means as it detects sounds. The range over which this technique is effective is limited by the strength of the summoner—Ikusa Mari can use a Ka at the far edge of his territory, but even a skilled human probably can’t reach further than a mile.
Chakra Cost:

Summon

Name: Lesser Kirema [Mure]
Age: Kirema live by cycling their existences. From the time they enter the world to the time they leave it (maximum one half hour later) roughly one hundred and twenty percent of the initial swarm will have died.
Gender: Asexual reproduction all the way, baby!
Height: About a centimeter
Weight: Less than an ounce

Appearance:
Spoiler:
A horde of tiny black flying creatures. So far, there are no reports from close-range study, so further details are unavailable. They sound like armies marching through the air.

Personality: As has been mentioned, Kirema are gates; they are not sentient. In this case, what comes through them isn’t much better.
Mure are simply too small to be controlled directly. They have a rudimentary hive-mind through a kind of distributed processing, but that’s about it. They’d attack Ikusa Mari himself if he appeared in one of their hives. Thanks to his experience with the intricate structures of Kaze Katai no Jutsu and the Kanmon contract, Aki can choose the place their rampage begins, and achieve a limited degree of containment, but that’s the outer limit.

Background: Mure are one in a long line of nearly-fatal errors resulting from the use of the Kanmon contract. When a low-level Kirema opened inside a Mure swarm, the horde that came boiling out nearly ate their summoner alive. Fortunately, the summoner in question was able to…redirect their hunger. What did he do when they left? Called them again. And again. It took intense training just to work out a way to make them leave, but things accelerated after that.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: D-rank

Jutsus:
Name: Katto - Cut
Rank: D
Type: Kenjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: The Mure are not so gentle as the Hiru. When a Hiru is satisfied, it drops off and doesn’t drink any more. Mure cut until they die, and their implements of incision are sharpened on Mari’s power—they can slice diamonds.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Housenka no Jutsu - Fireball Technique
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Fire
Requirements: Space to move and time for bodies to accumulate
Description: Mure live and die extremely rapidly. If the swarm wishes, it can move around the bodies of its recently-deceased members at high speed, producing enough friction to set them on fire. The resulting “fireballs” are extremely effective, leading some to theorize that the bugs are fairly oily.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Ikusa no Kaze – Ikusa Mari’s Winds
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: The slightest provocation
Description: This is really just Shunshin no Jutsu—each member of the swarm moves in one direction really, really fast. Let me repeat that. The entire swarm, each member of which can cut diamonds, moves as a body in a single direction really, really fast. There’s a reason they call it “Ikusa Mari’s Winds.”
Chakra Cost:

Summon

Name: Kageboushi – Shadow Figure
Age: One minute? One hour? One year? One century?
Gender: Gender?
Height: Varies almost at will
Weight: The sum of their parts

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Creatures formed out of shadows that can move even in bright light, though their forms slowly dissolve. They can take on almost any shape.

Personality: Kageboushi are indecipherable. Each is unique; each could, theoretically, be born the moment it’s summoned. Aki believes they show the full range of human emotion, though even Mari disagrees.

Background: Kageboushi are a completely accidental life form. No one knows exactly when they emerged, but at some point it became clear that some of the attacks from the shadows near Ikusa Mari’s throne were coming… from the shadows.
These shadows hold the unusual distinction of being one of the few fully sentient creatures that did not attack Akihiko the first time he summoned it. They get along well, or at least Aki believes they do. They’re certainly protective when they share a battlefield with him.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: D-rank

Jutsus:
Name:Kage no Jutsu – Shadow Technique
Rank: E [ranked for difficulty of mastery]
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: An area where light is absent
Description: Kageboushi are comprised of shadows. All of their attacks originate from existing shadows, sometimes several at once. It appears they can move freely between them, move them with the same freedom as a Nara clan member, and provide them with some kind of physical manifestation (usually a cutting edge).
Chakra Cost:

Name: Kage no Yoroi – Armor of Shadow
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Clothing
Description: There’s one place where shinobi always have shadows—underneath their clothing. Kagebosuhi are more than willing to work using the shadows underneath their summoners’ clothing, forming a defense against attacks and even manipulating them like puppets if they’re willing to relax.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Oikomi – Final Stage
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Fire
Requirements: N/A
Description: It’s not certain that the Kageboushi have physical form; it’s impossible to tell if they have minds; no one living knows if they have souls. But they most certainly do have energy, and if they want to, they can let it go. This releases a tremendous blast of flames, and the Kageboushi ceases to exist.
Chakra Cost:

Summon

Name: Shinigami – God of Death
Age: The composite form can only hold for about ten minutes, but that’s more than enough time for Death.
Gender: All of them, heheheheh.
Height: Between five and seven feet
Weight: About twenty pounds. It’s all in the scythe

Appearance:
Spoiler:
An extremely Western concept of Death, as interpreted by Ikusa Mari. It’s not a stealthy fighter—its very form wails as it moves. It always seems to be beckoning, even when both hands grip its sickle.

Personality: It’s Death, fueled by Mari’s desire for battle. It moves eagerly to attempt to claim as many souls as possible, living or dead, summoner or no. For reasons related to their first meeting that are unclear, the Shinigami obeys Akihiko when he calls it.

Background: This, children, is why you need to keep your books of fairytales locked up at night. Ikusa Mari heard a somewhat distorted version of the story of the Grim Reaper. He thought it was a wonderful idea—a creature to recycle used spirits in the same way the Hiru recycle used matter and energy. It took some time to get the core creature just right, but it was worth it. The new construction captured fallen spirits and forced them to continue to fight until they ceased to exist entirely.
The first time this creature was summoned, it attacked Akihiko with a single blow of its scythe. The blow passed right through the defenses raised against it, and right through the summoner. Evidently it was an attempt to add Aki’s soul to its tormented collection. The blow failed, and the specter dropped to one knee. It hasn’t attacked or disobeyed him since.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon:

Summon Rank: B-rank

Jutsus:
Name: Shuukai - Assembly
Rank: D
Type: Tensei Jutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Death in the area at some time in the past
Description: When the Shinigami manifests, it immediately begins absorbing the souls of the dead… everything… that surround it. This process continues for as long as it exists, producing a kind of regeneration.

Name: Banshi – Certain Death
Rank: D
Type: Genjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: The subject must possess some means of observing the shinigami—sight, hearing, etc.
Description: The screaming, the wailing, the sight of faces in torment. These are the signs that Mari caused to herald the Shinigami’s presence. They produce an undeniable effect on the minds of those around. The effect is proportional to the individual’s awareness of their own mortality—an odd effect that often affects older, more mature and intelligent humans more effectively than small children.

Name: Setsudanki - Cutter
Rank: C
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: This is the sickle of death. It can be resisted, but it’s like catching a sword in your hand—even if you have the sheer force to do it, it’ll draw blood. Of course, in this case the sword is immune to physical defenses and when it hits it cuts something far more fundamental. When you resist, it slices away a portion of the energy you use to do so. When you fail, you join the Reaper’s Chorus.

Name: Kaisei – Resurrection of Harmonious Voices
Rank: B
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: N/A
Description: This is the true function of the Shinigami—the return of dead souls to Ikusa Mari’s ideal state of combat. It compels all of the souls forming its composite body to enter the battle. They seek out the nearest chakra and absorb it, creating a cutting physical manifestation. This two-layered attack often drains its victims of life, then reduces their bodies to cubes a centimeter to a side. The rest of the victim, of course, becomes a part of the Shinigami.

Kanmon Contract Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kanmon Contract   Kanmon Contract EmptyTue Aug 18, 2009 10:57 am

Summon

Name: Greater Kirema [Houn] -- Mehiel
Age: Houn live for about twenty-five years on average. Of course, many do not die natural deaths, lowering their average somewhat. Mehiel is sixteen.
Gender: Male
Height: 8’ 4”
Weight: Pretty heavy

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Greater Kirema are larger than their counterparts, and they require a correspondingly greater amount of energy. The invocation of a Greater Kirema is always a visible activation.
Spoiler:
A Houn is a bestial monstrosity whose very power of flight is an offense against mundane scruples such as physics. Its hair is black and loose—it resembles a dressed pelt more than actual fur in many ways. The obvious exception is that it’s attached to a fully living animal whose jaws are eight feet above the ground when it stands fully erect.

Personality: Houn in general are aggressive creatures (Mari’s will) that prefer living meat. Probably the only reason they rarely eat each other is because the fur would stick in their teeth. Many believe they’re ‘perfected’ wolves.
Mehiel in particular is similar in many ways to other Houn. However, this particular Houn is somewhat less intelligent than the others. It’s not a hidden weakness, and the awareness of that fact has instilled a great respect for intelligence in Mehiel’s psyche. He also likes pasta in all its forms. In battle, he has no real fears and no real objectives—a berserker who, when his oily hair catches fires, starts trying to dive bomb people as a burning missile rather than attempting to put it out.

Background: The first time a Kirema opened near Mehiel, he charged through with claws blazing. Nope, no typos in that last sentence. He set fire to the grass underneath his feet. Luckily, Aki was able to contain the blaze. Then he tried to contain the creature. Mehiel did not take too kindly to that. The ensuing conflict was made extremely difficult by the Houn’s ability to flawlessly resist almost all of his opponent’s elemental ninjutsu. Akihiko was left with non-elemental techniques. The creature’s strange physiology made most of the Divert techniques useless, and more traditional genjutsu simply prompted the creature to attack everything, burning blindly. That left Ijutsu.
Even an bull looks a little surprised when a human hits it hard enough to cause damage, and Mehiel was smarter than any bull (though not by as much as you’d expect). The first chakra-enhanced punch he took launched him into the air. Akihiko finally found a use for his ninjutsu, launching upwards to continue the aerial combat. The next hit forced the creature down to the ground, leaving a sizeable mark on the terrain and almost breaking the Houn’s wings. The third hit knocked the summon unconscious.
When he woke up, Mehiel was surprised. Where he’d been living, blacking out generally meant death in one form or another. The surprise was severe enough to clear the fog of battle and start actual communication with the shinobi who’d summoned him.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

Chakra cost to summon

Summon Rank: A-rank

Jutsus:
Name: Shinkirou - Mirage
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Fire
Requirements: N/A
Description: This technique is a combination of high-speed motion and a corona like no other. As the Houn moves, it leaves images of itself not unlike Bunshin. The difference is that if anything (i.e., fists) were to strike these images it would be plunging into a heat wave.

Name: Mukuge - Shaggy Hair
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: N/A
Description: The bones, skin, and hair of the Houn are shot through with some kind of metal. They can stiffen this at will, producing a sharp, durable metallic coat.

Name: Katon - Fire
Rank: E-B
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Fire
Requirements: N/A
Description: All Houn can produce and manipulate fire, producing results up to B-rank in power. They’re remarkably effective at it.

Name: Tegotae - Resistance
Rank: C
Type: Tai/Ninjutsu
Element: Wind/Fire
Requirements: N/A
Description: The Houn are incredibly effective at dealing with a variety of attacks. Suiton jutsu can be dispersed as a cloud of steam. A rapid wing movement can release a burst to disrupt Fuuton. The appropriate stance can ground Raiton through the beast’s unusual metallic skeletal structure. Obviously, enough power (stronger than A-rank) from any of these sources simply cannot be dismissed so lightly, and there’s nothing to do against Doton but dodge.

Name: Katon Douka - Heat Absorption
Rank: B
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Fire
Requirements: A heat source
Description: Many have observed the Houn drinking blood on the battlefield and assumed that they’re some kind of vampiric beast. In point of fact, they couldn’t care less about the blood—they need the heat. They thrive on heat from almost any source—sunlight, blood, fire (natural or otherwise), absorbing it and using it as energy to live or fight (the two are generally indistinguishable).

Summon

Name: Greater Kirema [Ikusa Mari]
Age: Mari claims to be as old as the human race. No one’s challenged this.
Gender:
Height: About 3.5 meters
Weight: Dense.

Appearance: Kirema-
Spoiler:
This ultimate Kirema opens directly in front of War’s Lover. The forces involved distort light itself as the gateway opens. For one moment, the battlefield of the shinobi touches the Battlefield at Ikusa Mari’s throne.
Ikusa Mari-
Spoiler:
The one who would make the entire world a battlefield is actually much less imposing than many other creatures of his rank. After all, he’s only about twelve feet tall, and the heights of most bijuu and S-ranked summons are measured in stories.
Granted, his form is constantly dripping with corrupted, destructive energies as his mere presence shifts the surrounding world towards his ideal, and granted describing his warped form as “humanoid” is a solid indicator of just how much he wants to change reality, but still… You encounter six-eyed pseudodeities whose forms are held together by sheer demiurge every day, right?

Personality: Kirema are really just gateways leading to a ‘perfected region’ (in this case the throne of Ikusa Mari); they're emotionless. War’s Lover isn’t.
“Call me to the battle, not the slaughter.”—Mari is not actually summoned by the Kuchiyose no Jutsu technique; a Kirema is created that Mari may or may not pass through. If the battle wouldn’t be a challenge, the Kirema will close unused. Even if Mari does come, you may never see his more powerful techniques because they’d make the struggle into an execution. In a way, if you see Mari’s full power it’s the greatest compliment you’ll ever receive (and probably the last, too).
“Let a thousand hatreds bloom.”—Mari has an odd reputation for mercy. Descendants, injured opponents, etc, are all left alive, if possible, in order to fuel further conflict. War’s Lover often consciously attempts to widen the fight rather than control it, with interesting results. Naturally, that still doesn’t mean defeat is acceptable.

Background: The first time Akihiko created a sufficiently powerful Kirema near the throne, the enthroned one stepped through out of a desire to reach further into the world. Recognizing the shinobi from the reports of other summonings, War’s Lover thanked him— then attacked. It was fortunate that no one was in the vicinity, since the collateral damage from Mari’s missed attacks scorched the surrounding area down to bedrock. The resulting agreement was simplicity itself: Ikusa Mari wanted summoning to occur, wanted the perfected creatures and constructs to become involved in conflicts everywhere. Aki wanted to summon them, wanted access to their abilities in combat. As you can see, the two found a great deal of common ground.

How it's summoned: A shinobi who is attached to the Kanmon contract and makes a definite mental commitment to battle (as opposed to negotiation or intimidation) can perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu. Then efforts may be made to convince Mari to pass through the resultant rift.

Chakra cost to summon:

Summon Rank: S-rank

Jutsus: (For Ikusa Mari)

Name: Hikarinohayasa – The Speed of Light
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Being Ikusa Mari
Description: The Kanmon leader is large compared to a human, but relative to most hundred-plus-foot-tall “boss summons,” Ikusa Mari is tiny. No weaker, though—the power of War’s Lover is just incredibly concentrated. Those without dojutsu tend to believe all of Mari’s movements are performed using space/time jutsus.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Chuushinshisou - Central Dictate
Rank: C
Type: Kenjutsu
Element: Wind
Requirements: Being the Blade of Ikusa Mari
Description: “Cut. Once committed to fight, Cut. Everything else is secondary. Cut. That is your duty, your purpose, your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides this one. Cut.”
These are not words that describe Ikusa Mari; he is always committed to battle. These are the words that describe the will of his weapon. This is a Kenjutsu technique performed not with, but by a sword.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Kanzen – Perfection
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: “Fire”
Requirements: Being Ikusa Mari
Description: Do you remember the Raifusaikuruenerugi? This is where that power comes from. Ikusa Mari is constantly converting small amounts of both energy and matter into the overflowing, violent “perfected energy” that Flares spew forth, causing him to appear to be covered in liquid flames. That’s not particularly dangerous unless you’re trying to stab or punch him. What is dangerous is when Mari really concentrates on it, grabbing a handful of just about anything and instantly “perfecting” it. The results can be blasted as a wall of “fire,” hurled as missiles, moved around like some kind of beam… Whatever the use, there will be destruction. And chaos. And probably fifth degree burns if you so much as get close to something it just hit. It’s a miracle that the atmosphere doesn’t ignite.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Sentoushien - Combat Support
Rank: A
Type: Ijutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Sufficient energy to transfer
Description: Wait, the evil force that wants to convert all of reality into a battlefield knows medical ninjutsu? Not really. For this technique, Ikusa Mari injects a portion of chakra into another living creature. Assuming this doesn’t immediately fry them, the recipient can use this energy to fight at full potential, regardless of injuries or exhaustion. Unfortunately, the chakra has no actual restorative effects, so (a la Kimmimaro) disabled body parts are forced to move like puppets. Broken bones slice into the surrounding muscles, increased heart rate accelerates trauma from internal bleeding, etc. It’s amazing what people will endure to keep fighting.
Chakra Cost:

Name: Sousei – Creation of World
Rank: S
Type: Tensei Jutsu
Element: N/A
Requirements: Retreat from the battlefield almost immediately after use
Description: Ikusa Mari moves to battle, not to execution. A “one shot kill” technique would be antithetical to the purpose of the very existence of War’s Lover. The ultimate power does not end the conflict; it expands it. This jutsu is what brought Mari’s throne into being in the first place and founded the Kanmon contract.
To phrase it simply, Mari uses a Tensei jutsu (life-transference technique). On everything. Mari’s spirit lashes out into the surrounding world, seizing on whatever it can find and converting it far more fully than a simple Koutai could ever dream of. This technique leaves even Mari fairly drained, but… If it’s used, you won’t have time to worry about that.
